APRIL 27 – 29 WENDY JUDITH CUTLER
Women Writing Memoir: Writing Women’s Lives
Many of us are drawn to capture our lives in writing in order to record our herstories, gain insight into our pasts and recreate the particular, sometimes painful, and often extraordinary moments, discoveries and transitions in our lives.
We will experience the richness of memoir as a means to deepen understanding of our selves, our stories, our visions, our dreams. In a nurturing, tender and explorative circle, you will be guided into personal writing, deep listening, sharing with others and, most importantly, writing for your selves.
We will examine principles and approaches to writing about ourselves, experiment with creative techniques, explore memoir and share deeply with other women through writing from and about our lives. We will create a circle of women writing together.
Wendy Judith Cutler, teacher, writer and activist, has taught writing and women’s studies for 26 years and currently guides women’s journalwriting circles and memoir workshops on Salt Spring Island, BC. She relishes the opportunity to inspire others to honor the power and wisdom of their own words. This is her 22nd year at Breitenbush.
